New treatment option for local children addresses rapidly growing demand
September 2021: Autism Care Therapy (ACT), announced that it has opened a new autism therapy center in Chicago. Located at 4830 N Pulaski Rd, ACT’s newest center offers Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children aged 18 months and older who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. While we have a wide variety of services already, including speech services, we plan on expanding our services further with time.
The new Autism Center will help address the fast-growing need for high-quality autism therapy in Chicago. According to the Center for Disease Control, autism diagnoses have increased by 15% in the last two years, now affecting approximately one in every 59 children across the United States.
ACT Chicago will provide one-on-one therapy, parent training, and more behavioral health services in a fun, distraction-free, convenient environment with customized plans to help each child reach his or her full potential.
“ACT has been delivering both clinic-based home based ABA therapy in Oak Lawn, Lombard, Chicago, and other surrounding areas, yet it is clear that many more Chicago area families need help,” said BCBA Shaden Kassar, CEO of ACT. “Our new Autism Center offers top-quality ABA therapy and is an ideal way to serve more families, especially families that need additional flexibility and choices.”
Additionally, ACT’s third center in Illinois, joining Oak Lawn and Lombard, provides comprehensive clinic-based and home based ABA therapy throughout the state.
ABA is an evidence-based therapy that has been proven effective in helping children with autism improve communication and social skills while reducing challenging behaviors. Covered by most insurance plans, ABA has been endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Autism Society of America, and many others.
ACT’s mission is to provide outstanding therapeutic services that improve the quality of life for our children and prepare them for a better future. ACT’s vision is to help people with autism reach their full potential, one child at a time.
At ACT, we strive to set our patients up for success. We do all that we can to help the family. We try to make the program as affordable as possible while maintaining the high quality of our services. This primarily sets us apart from other practices. We go above and beyond with supporting our families and advocating for our patients.
Our pro-bono clinic offers therapy for families without access to ABA through traditional methods. The clinic focuses on training parents in light of our mission of supporting our patients and their families.
